AJAX GROUP, THE

Line-up unkown: First spotted in February 1959 playing The Cottage PH, Thorpe, Nch as The Norwich Ajax Group but seen under a host of other titles throughout that year, including a small ad’s misprint for their services as The Ajex Trio. They are advertised as the resident group at The Norfolk Railway House PH, Nch in December 1960, ads for which reveal they are made up of a piano, saxophone and banjo with Derek at the mic.

NB: There is the distinct possibility I have joined two different Ajax formations together, or even missed some out. For instance The Ajax Rock Band is advertised playing at The Red Lion PH, Thorpe, Nch in December 1961. If anyone from the band could come clean it would be appreciated.
