This group had previously been playing as News of the World

"Marr left News of the World and Paul Burrows joined. We then changed musical direction and became BandAxis. Nick and myself were the main songwriters. Through a battle with EMI and BGM we had several down moments, due to Curtis not turning up for recording sessions! Curtis was then replaced with Brian Kettle. Nick wanted to go full Rock Star so formed The Nicky Lewin Band and the remaining three continued as GasX1. Nick recorded an album and put together a who’s who of musicians to tour! He later sacked them and GasX1 became The Nicky Lewin Band to finish some contracted gigs. Nick still plays, teaches and performs Spanish guitar and has recorded tracks, that funnily enough I am on! We are still best mates! Nick & Paul, I talk to regularly Brian every now and again! I now run the Drumming Shop on Woodbridge Rd, Ipswich." MW 02/03/2021
