The Spectors began skiffling at Sheringhams Jolly Jack Tar basement bar back in 1958. "We all met whilst at Cromer Secondary modern" Said original drummer Brian Ling "We would rehearse at Cromer youth club, from there the band developed and became known as Chubby And The Chequers just before I went into the RAF in 1959."

Brian continued to play for a while in the RAF and formed a group when stationed in Lybia. A regular guest with the band was old school colleague Nicky Cracknell who became Nicky Walker

The groups movements after 1964 are not well documented but it is believed that the Farrow brothers are doing really well in America with a country and western band. The group crops up in the Thetford & Watton times in 1964 helping out at a charity gig. Brian is now an offshore caterer and still occasionally gets up on stage at the local Tyneside club in Cromer
