Previously playing as Three In A Thousand. The band performed original songs primarily written by Richard Barrett. Joy featured on both Shoot The Canary compilation albums and the track God Misses Angels from the first album was play-listed for two weeks on Radio 1.

Joy played showcase gigs at the Mean Fiddler, Rock Garden, Power House and The Marquee Club in London and were also featured on TV. The group released the private pressing The World’s a Beach EP in 1992, which also received airplay on Radio 1.

Performed live on Radio 1 as part of the first ever  ‘Sound City’ event alongside Eddi Reader, The Pasadeners & Cathy Dennis
