The band were first spotted around 1960, and went through a few changes, including West leaving to join The Dynatones. The group was then propped up by ex-Rebel Rousers, Parkinson and Barnes, a band they had previously shared the stage with on numerous occasions. The group folded in early 1963 but reformed as The Gentry in October later that year.
