"After Alan (Davey) had left Gunslinger to join Hawkwind i auditioned for Motorhead and Gunslinger ceased to be. I got down to the last eight of the auditions and later Alan who had played the same bill as Lemmy many times in his Hawkwind days reminded him of the audition and Lemmy gave Alan a ring to pass on to me. I then put together Merchants of Sorrow with ex Gunslinger drummer Lamb and we brought in a good friend of his Dave Meecham formerly of Panorama In Black on bass." NP 07/05/2020
