Formed by mates Neil Keeler (Keyboards), Chris Peters (Guitar/Bass) and Richard Jelfs (Drums) whilst at Cromer High School in 1984. The band were heavily influenced by Duran Duran, Japan, Bowie and Glam Rock. We wrote a few of our own songs, but on the whole, were a covers band to begin with. Our first singer was a guy called Roddy Kerr, he was a few years older than the rest of the band and the grandson of Coco the Clown and could not sing. He was replaced by Lynda Gotts (who could sing) and local cricket star, Danny Williams was added on lead guitar.

Whilst in the final year of School, the Cromerzone scene came to be. This centred around weekly gigs at the Melbourne Hotel, Cromer, put on by local musician Alistair Murphey. Bands such as Kaisers Advisors, Chocked on a Worm, Green Beach and Cannistrange would appear on a regular basis, as would the big haired, makeup wearing 16 year olds Nofix D'bode (still makes me cringe). Gigs were also put on at Moons Disco at the West Runton Village Inn (next to the Pavillion), which, in turn, became the local hang out for the North Norfolk alternative types.

After leaving Cromer High School in 1986 Richard and Chris went on to Paston College, North Walsham, during this time fellow Pastoner, Jason Cork was brought in to replace Lynda on lead vocals and Malcolm Birtwell (Green Beach) was added on guitar. Malcolm was a massive Cure and Smiths fan and took the band in a whole new, darker direction. However, the band had commited themselves to a weekly residency at Northrepps Country Club over the summer of 1887, as such, a wide range of horrible covers had to be learnt and played. On the plus side, we got free beer and saved up enough cash to record a demo at Raven Recording Studio.

A 2 track demo was produced by Howard Turner and it cost us a small fortune, we were 17 and in a proper 24 track studio!!!! The songs recorded were Hey You and Make it Right.

In early 1988 Neil was tempted away by Lynda Gotts to form the Real McCoy, a synth/vocal duo. Nofix D'bode plodded on as a 4 peice for a while, contributing a few tracks to various Cromerzone complilation tapes, recorded at Alistar Murphey's Cromerzone Studio.

The final gig was played at Reepham High School in mid 1988, yes we were mobbed by girls, Richard and Jason wanted to be Bross, I wanted to be the Cure....the band ended!!!!!! Neil and Chris went on to form The Charge in 1989 [Biog text by Chris Peters]
