It didn’t take much for Mark Kenyon to take to a kit, his father Derek was already playing for the Tailgate Jazz Band and was a regular down at the Studio Four jazz club with his own on the spot improv’ bands. "There was a drum kit permanently set up in the house, my father never pushed me to play, but he never discouraged me either" Said Mark

The Plectrums never progressed much further than their rehearsals room at the Harleston congregational youth club and to make progress Mark became part of the Dylan influenced Garlic Flowers but was to later reunite with Mick Watling in the oddly entitled named Queen Victoria’s Wedding in 1968
