Bobs brother Roy was the bands roadie and driver. In early 1980 the band move down to London and continued. Roy Lucas adds, “We lived in various flats. Bart lived in Balham, Bob and I lived in North London, Willesden and Golders Green. Wendy stayed with Bart at one point, Eddie was in a second bedroom there. We formed Europe After The Rain. It was Bart’s idea. I played Bass. Eddie was on guitar. Bart was singing by now and we had a guy called Micky Finn on Drums, not that Micky Finn. We played the Rock Garden in Covent Garden on April 1st 1980 supporting Haircut 100. They borrowed my bass amp and we got paid £7. They went on to become famous and had hits in the charts soon after that. We just got drunk and partied, that was our thing" RL06/02/2024

"I will have to sit down at some point and see if I can draw a timeline of different bands The Private's morphed into. If you go on YouTube and look for, How Many Beans Make Five. That’s Bob's band with his school friend Mark, they moved to Brighton and started there. They have played all over England and also Japan, they loved them there. Bob sold two of his songs to Cherry Red Records and they are now on Spotify. Mark then stayed in Brighton and Bob moved to the USA. Bart funded his own album which we all contributed to, including Monkey from the Addicts. A friend of ours back then. Barton is now an actor and events organiser, he is also an Andy Warhol lookalike going under The Spirit Of Andy Warhol. He has appear numerous times in the line-up on Never Mind The Buzzcocks."
