Spencer & Dacre had been the backbone of Norwich band Streetlife who had called it a day in 1990 before putting together the less brass orientated Rainy Daze. It's thought that the band reboot under The Love Explosions when Meacock leaves and Gooch joins - unconfirmed. Less than a year later the band become known as People Connexion.

"We had a possible signing with London records, they liked our stuff. We arranged to go down there and had a big day planned but in the mean time Bongo ran off with the cleaner at The Volunteer PH were we rehearsed. It messed up the day. We still went down to the head office but we missed out on a deal as i'm sure we would have got signed. Paul didn’t turn up for at least 3 years." CS01/06/2020
