The band played the opening night at The Gaiety BR, Ramsey near Peterborough, on 21 January 1961. “We formed in the late fifties after The Chain Gang SG had broken up, skiffle was out, and rock ‘n’ roll was now in,” said Gates. “We started a four-piece and kept adding people. We would play regularly at The Hague Hall, Pboro on a Saturday night and at The St Mary’s Hall. Later, Peter Carter and I moved down to Southampton to play for Len Canham, who promoted at The Pier, and I think Ricky was taken on by promoter Reg Calvert.” Gates would later return to form The Adrian Titman Trio.
