After Hunt & Archer leave Shadowfax they form pop trio Second Image with Harris late of Change Of Mind. The group starts out playing an array of covers from sixties to contemporary while slowly incorporating their own compositions. In [month required] 1986 the band revamps with Chris Archer moving onto guitar, allowing his brother Nick to come in on bass and vocals along with the addition of keyboard player Dave Gowing. The band change their name to Impact at this point.

"It was a while ago now but I think this is how it progressed Shadowfax came first,  then me and Paul left and started Second Image with Nigel. I then moved to guitar and Nick and David joined and we became impact." CA30/06/2020
