An honorary and exploratory mention goes to Innes, who according to the late Geoff Moss, bassist of The Jaywalkers, did play gigs around Norwich. Born in Danbury, Essex in 9 December 1944, Innes father was in The Royal Artillery and after a stint in Germany settled in Thorpe, Norwich in 1955. Having passed his 11-plus he went to Thorpe Grammar School and in 1962, started to attend The Norwich School of Fine Art. Geoff said, “Budding players from the Art School would just put on ad-hoc shows, wherever! That included pick-up groups and busking bands. I busked with him and others in the city centre a few times, it was great fun, and we collected a bit of change as well!” Innes has subsequently gone on to become an international celebrity and known musically for The Bonzo Dog Doo Dah Band and The Beatle send-up, The Ruttles. Did you play in a local band with Innes during those skiffle years or when he was treading the boards of the bohemian arts scene in the early sixties?

Passed away on 29 December 2019
