Bayes Record Shop founded in 1961 when Bob Booth asked his father who ran and owned Bayes Television and Radio repair shop in St James Street if he could open a record department within the store. "I never thought he would agree to it" said Bob "He'd never listened to me before" He laughs

The Shop had three addresses in all and at the Tower Street location had a recording studio upstairs where many popular bands from the region recorded see Bayes Recordium
