Built in the early 1960's the pub started to advertise gigs in the early 1970's. Badly damaged by fire 17/05/2008 it reopened in January 2009. Closed in 2010 and demoshed in March 2011.

Talent contest held here 16th December 1970 by Anglia Taverns was won by the group
Regency ( Michael Woodcock, lead guitar, Tony Powles, rhythm guitar, Paul Moss, bass guitar and Clive Athowe, drums ). All entrants to the finals received a prize of a £5 hamper of Watney beer products.
In December 1971 the winners were `harmony duo' Janice Sadler & Shirley Betts
