Berserk formed in the summer of 1980. Ashley, Kev and Trevor responded to an advert placed in a Norwich music shop by Franklin who was looking to form a band. After a few jam sessions Franklin and the bass player she had already acquired left. She is later seen fronting Bang Goes My Stereo. The group then bring in Ashley's friend Toby on bass.

The band wrote and rehearsed for about six months before playing three gigs - two in a barn at Pentney Abbey near Kings Lynn, and one at Geldeston village hall in South Norfolk with and very oddly Bang Goes My Stereo.

In 1981 the band went to Whitehouse Studio in Norwich to record some demos. Further demos were also recorded on a four track portastudio. The band then headed off to London coming away with offers of a deal from both RCA and Trident Records and an interest in publishing from Phonogram. Unfortunately, the band then fell apart in the summer of 1981 and nothing came of the offers.

Ashley has been living in Taiwan for a number of years and currently plays bass in a jazz band.

Trevor moved to London after Berserk split up and did session drumming for a while, releasing a single with The Decoy men in 1981 and playing at the Greenbelt festival on the same bill as Cliff Richard! He moved back to Norfolk in the late 1980s, played briefly in A Better Mousetrap with Kev, got married and, as far as we know, no longer plays drums.

Kev remained in Norfolk, married in 1984 and played in several bands over the years including The Stand, and A Better Mousetrap before finally forming the psychedelic/Indie band The Mandrax Incident in 1991.
