"The Love Explosions formed in 1984, originally Joe Boone vocals, Sean Read saxophone, Andy Hackett guitar, Duncan Asker drums and Jerry Gooch bass. Very soon Bob Barrell joined on trumpet, followed by Zeben Jameson on keyboards. We played a funk influenced sort of pop. Mainly original songs with the very occasional cover (I remember one James Brown number and one by The Three Degrees). We were quite popular for a little while and often played the Labour Club, The Gala where your photo was taken, The Jacquard and The Arts Centre etc. I don't think we ever officially split up but we had stopped playing by early 86. We did a few recordings for an unfinished and unreleased album which was going to be called Black Eyes And Lovebites. Me, Sean, and Zeben all moved to London. Sean and I are still in The Rockingbirds along with another Norwich musician Patrick Arbuthnot. Zeben played on our first album." AH 14/05/2020

In late 1992 after a short spell under the title Rainy Daze the Streetlife backbone of Spencer and Dacre and former explosive Jerry Gooch rebooted The Love Explosions although the project lasts less than a year before the group morph into People Connexion.
