"I first met Roger in 1973. In early 1974 we put the band together, myself on vocals and guitar, Mick Betts on guitar, Pete Motts on bass and Roger on drums and vocals. Our first rehearsal was at The Romany Rye PH, Nch on the 13th March 1974 and 14 days later we played our first gig at the same venue. The landlord of The Woodcock PH, Nch was at the gig that night and booked us to play his pub the following week. We went on to play 67 gigs that first year and 115 the following year. We started the band to have fun, entertain and play the widest range of music we possibly could. We've always tried to do the current number ones. Along the way, we developed quite a repertoire of Chas & Dave numbers and in contrast also Level 42 songs featuring Gary's excellent bass playing. We were resident at Spencers Night Club, Nch when it opened in March 1978 and at The Salhouse Lodge where our yearly pantomime became a bit of a feature. I dropped out around 2008 after 1800 gigs when guitarist Jason Tyrell stepped in to become JT & The Accent 3 with Pryde, Dungar and Woodrow." JS25/01/2021
