"First line up of the Rock & Roll Geezers came out of The Sex Toys which was The Sex Toys plus me; Tony, Malcolm. The drummer I think was a bloke called Neil [Niall Grimmer]. Neil didn't stay long. They still did shows under that name [The Sex Toys] if I was offshore and couldn't play. Teddy came in on drums next with Kevin Hunt doing a lot of depping beforehand. Malcolm was then replaced by Kimberling who also did backing vocals but took on lead vocals when Day departed. We then added keyboard player Edwards who is now in Bad Manners! Before this though Teddy moved on and was replaced by Darren Nobby Clarke. Later bass player Ashtray Simms joined on bass and backing vocals and Kimbling became the solo lead vocalist and we were now a five-piece. This line up stayed together for a few years. Edwards then left and moved to Bury and for a while, we went back to a four-piece. Howard then joined as a rhythm guitarist doing some backing vocals and for some time we were back to five. Next Howard moved to Coventry and Ronny Rocka would come up from London to play with us, I recall that around the same time Titcombe also played shows with us when Nobby couldn't make it. Dave Howes also did quite a few shows ad hoc with us playing keyboards and trumpet. He's a multi-instrumentalist and a pro on the cruise ships with his own show. He's done loads of shows with us over the years. We were then doing a show at The Waterfront in Norwich and a guy named Sid [Kevin Sid Rudrum] jumped on me as I come off stage and said: "I got to be in this band." I said, "Sid you start next Saturday." Sid was surprised! I knew him and remembered him from my youth when he played keyboards in Boys Will Be Boys. Richard Heinz and Danny Dunn also played bass with us from time to time. We came up with the band name when Tony and I went to Norway and everywhere we went we sent postcards home and signed em the Geezers. When we got home we were in a pub with Malcolm and I said why aren't we playing they both said book a gig and we will do it. So I booked us in The Entertainer in Gorleston for the next Saturday. No rehearsal, I didn't know what we would do. Don't think we have ever rehearsed. The show was packed and we haven't stopped since."

The band has since truncated its name to The Geezers, George thinks this may have happened around 2010  DG 25/03/2020
