Formed by drumming vocalist Lockwood after leaving The Amazons. Bass player Murphy said, “The Shift was really my first band and was formed by friends. As everyone had a guitar, my theory was if I had a bass, I would be in greater demand. The band only lasted until New Year’s Eve 1966, and then me and Colin joined up with David Beale to form Time Being.”
