The smoke had barely left the embers of the mach one Sabres when Tony Relph found himself out of retirement and fronting the all new Surfing Sabres. A good point to note here is there was a distinctive gap between the Surfing Sabres and it’s previous incarnation, however both bands are often talked about as if one of the same and this was mainly down to Tony using the same CV to promote both bands. The group seized upon the popularity for America’s new west coast sound with groups such as the Beach Boys, Jan & Dean &            at the top of their covers list. Recruiting some of the finest voices in East Anglia the all star cast impressed audiences with there five part harmonies. Tony Cator & Derek Bruntone had just finished with the Mach two Drumbeats® And Richard Sexton who went under the s   Paul Ritchie had previously been with    the Kings Lynn Strollers. During the groups     Tony Relph acquired the Crazy Horse club in Feltwell high street and the Surfing Sabres became the resident band. Later references to the band refer to the group as The Soul Sabres and was probably used in essence to express the groups versatility. The group folded in 196 . Tony concentrated on running the Crazy Horse but was to believed to have sold up in the early seveties. Paul Ritchie revived the name of his first band to form the all New Verdicts® with some of Wells ex Triffids®.

As with the previous group the band receved plenty of attention

In [date required] Tony Cator resurrected the Surfing Sabres, for the Golden Years gigs, once again the band was built around tight harmonies
