"The band was started by myself in 1992. We were friends - Suzie Hanna on fiddle (Oily Rag Band) and Leigh-Anne Perryman (Brendan Shine Showband) was bass and keyboards. Both sang so it was very much a 3 part harmony band. Suzie was a full time professor at Norwich Art School so we toured during school holidays! By the time we were nominated for Best Trio in the BCMA awards things were getting too busy work wise so she introduced us to Hayley Moyse who wanted to tour. Hayley only stayed a couple of months. We then found Sandra Waters. Suzie then rejoined throughout ‘98 and ‘99. I had previously worked professionally as a solo act for 12 years, after leaving school. Way Out West  was my first and only band, we disbanded in 1999. I now work solo again. We’re friends though and plan a reunion in the near future." AB 26/06/2020
